Welcome

At Gorgie Road Dental Practice our dentists offer high quality dental services from our expert team of professionals.
We always welcome new patients, so come along and allow us to look after your smile.
Whether you are looking for a simple check up, or have not been to the dentist for many years, we will be pleased to see you.
Many patients, both adult and child, are anxious about visiting the dentist.  We understand these anxieties, and hope to be able to put you at ease and make your visit as comfortable as possible.
By encouraging our patients to attend regularly we aim to catch tooth decay and gum disease as early as possible, therefore minimising treatment and maximising oral health.

Treatments

Gorgie Road Dental Practice is predominately a committed NHS Practice. We also offer a range of Private Cosmetic treatments. We also provide a referral service for orthodontic and implant treatments.

NHS

We offer a full range of NHS Dentistry. For more information on NHS Dentistry please have a look at the NHS Dentistry website. (www.psd.scot.nhs.uk/dentists Practitioner Services -dentists-home) Please note all NHS prices are set by NHS Scotland and are the same for all the dentists in Scotland. Paying patients are expected to pay 80% of the full NHS charges. We offer the full NHS service.

Some services are not available within the NHS structure. These can be provided privately.

Tooth whitening – to brighten your smile. This can be done at home with custom made trays and specialist materials.

White fillings at the back – to blend with the natural shade of your teeth

White crowns at the back – to replace broken down teeth with a strong alternative.

Bonding – a way of restoring a tooth by bonding white material over the tooth to change the colour or change the shape – easily maintained and repaired over time and less expensive and less destructive of tooth tissue than crowns. Any unsightly recession of the gum can easily be disguised by this technique as time goes by.

Hygienist Visits – this really helps to avoid gum disease and sensitivity. Gum disease gives bad taste and bad breath.

We also provide a referral service for orthodontic and implant treatments.

Denplan

Denplan is a preventive care system that maximises oral health and reduces decay and gum disease. We offer a full Denplan service, and are Denplan Excell accredited.
Denplan allows patients to spread the cost of their dental treatment over the year with no nasty surprises if problems occur. Patients are assessed and categorised into bands A to E.  Banding is set on how much treatment you have had in the past and your current dental health.
Dental checkups, hygienist visits and any other work the patient requires is provided, although any lab work is paid for by the patient. Patients must be dentally fit before joining Denplan.
To find out more please visit the Denplan website. (www.Denplan.net)
